Mastering the Putting Green

I know that most people like to get out there to the driving range if they can’t get the time to play a round of golf, but I think that working on your putting is really the way to go to see improvement. Yes, it feels awesome to be really teeing off and hitting that perfect straight shot that you can just picture landing on the right spot of the fairway, but when it comes to really lowering your score, the simple practice that you can get from artificial backyard putting greens can be a game changer.

I’m not even talking about some big setup that costs thousands of dollars. Even something simple like synthetic putting green turf that can be rolled out and then put away when you are done can be a great source of practice. So much of what we do on the green is minute adjustments, so working on a smooth swing and getting the proper feel for distance can be a big deal.

Imagine cutting off a single stroke from each hole and how that will improve your score. An easy to get to practice putting green can make that happen and there are so many options when it comes to the style that you use. Truly, there are incredibly expensive set ups that can look and feel almost like a real green, and there are little turf strips with a cup at the end to aim at. It doesn’t have to be complicated, just fit your needs, and then you need to make sure that you are using it every day. The simple act of repeating your putting motion several times a day will make sure that your muscle memory is imprinted to the point that you don’t have to think about it when you are out on the real golf course.

Give your putting game a chance to improve and you will like the results.
